FAQ

What exactly does an endplate do?

It fences the edge of the splitter. Under the splitter you want low pressure and above it high pressure; at an open edge those two meet and the high-pressure air spills around into the low-pressure side, which bleeds off the difference that makes the splitter work. A fence at the edge makes that spill harder. I walk through the whole aero setup in All the Ways to Get More Downforce on Your Track Car.

Will this add a specific amount of downforce?

The gain is more front downforce. I am not going to give you a number I have not measured: the mechanism is real and well understood, but I have not run this car with and without endplates on a scale or with aero rakes, so any figure I quoted would be invented.

Does it fit a splitter other than the AJ Hartman?

It was designed around the AJ Hartman splitter on a C8. Anything else will need the mount reworked. The STL is sold as is so you can adapt it.

What is in the digital download?

Splitter_Endplates_V3.stl, the endplate as run on the car. Print one and mirror it in your slicer for the other side.
